Dear Mr. Seligman,

Enclosed is a xerox copy of a page from the Frick Collection Guidebook which I think is self explanatory in light of our conversation on Saturday. I have not yet determined how I connected the Princesse de Broglie with Mme. de Staƫl, but if and when I do I shall let you know. If I am wrong I'll let you know too. Clearly, however, the Princesse de Broglie I have in mind is not the one portrayed in the Lehman portrait which was painted in 1853, for this princess appears far too young to be the mother of the Comtesse d'Haussonville whose portrait was conpleted in 1845. So, there, at least, I am wrong.

The current exhibition at your gallery was charming and was rewarding to see. I look forward, though, to your old master drawing show in the fall. I appreciate that sort of thing much more than contemporary art.

With best regard to you and to Mrs. Seligman, who was at the gallery on Saturday but whom I didn't recognize until after I have left, I remain

Sincerely yours,
