Mr Eberhart

My dear Sir,
Yours of 26th inst is this morning received, and I hasten to reply. Soon after writing you the reasons why this Society were unwilling to pay for, or use Barnes' Series of readers, we received from our Teachers in Georgia, an urgent call for Books, and trusting (perhaps too much) to the weight of our argument - which we hoped would carry your assent to the views set forth - we ventured to comply with the requisition, without delay. So there are two boxes of books, slates &c on the way in part purchased here, and part donated by the city to our use.

Transcription Notes:
its Sir not Lin, inst used to denote date in current month, dont truncate words per SI (argument),
