I am not acquainted with Mr. Fulton, of whom I suppose you have heard ere this. If you should want my opinion as regards appointing him Supdt, I would give it, though I for some reason would prefer to be silent. 

I have just recd permission from the Cambridge (Mass) S.S. to employ on their behalf one Native teacher. The teachers kept no minute acct of their expenses from Boston since they were allowed $50.00 each, and were permitted to go any route they might choose, understanding that all expense over $50.00 was to be borne by the teachers. By referring to previous bills the Scty found that the travelling expenses were, on the average, at least that sum ($50.00). Miss Fowler went overland from Boston to N.Y; from N.Y to Charleston S.C.
