as the following statement will show, During the month of July rations were issued to three hundred and fourteen destitute people; of this number, were ten Colored men, thirteen Colored women and seventeen children. Those who worked for certain portions of the Crop, received no Compensation for their services, and the majority who worked for wages, many of the Employers are yet indebted to them for last year's labor.
