The following complaints and outrages have investigated by me during the month to wit.

[[left margin]] Complaint No. 1 [[/left margin]]
John Williams Col'd complained that John P. Bobo (white) for whom he was working this year, committed an assault with intent to kill upon him, Aug. 5th 1867. Williams complained to a Justice of the Peace here at Sardis, a warrant was issued, but as there was no Constable here the writ was not served.

Williams then came to me and requested me to investigate the complaint which I did, and the charge against Bobo was substantiated by the testimony of two other Witness. I telegraphed to Hd. Qtrs. Vicksburg, and received answer to hold Bobo till Guard
