Sickness.

The month of September and part of October much sickness prevailed in the sub district. The majority of cases, however, were light. Good health now prevails in all sections.

Before closing I would suggest that if it can be done, that magistrate be ordered or requested to furnish to the Bureau Agent or to the Civil Rights Comr a synopsis of cases tried wherein freedmen are concerned, with a note of the [[strikethrough]] decision [[/strikethrough]] evidence on which a decision is based. This would in my humble opinion do much towards establishing a uniformity of practices & at the same time show whether the laws of the U.S. are respected & faithfully executed by them.
