Transcript from the Journal of Complaints &c made at the Office of Sub Asst Comr B.R.F. and A. L. Sub Dist of East Pascagoula Miss during the month of Oct 1867. 

October 14th 1867.

Clay   Arron, freedman, complains against Henry Furlow (freedman) both laborers at Messrs O'Farrall and Chambers Saw-Mill - on account of a personal assault. 
Advised to settle the difficulty in a satisfactory manner between themselves without resorting to Civil Law.

October 17th 1867.

Baker  Henry (freedman) applies in behalf of himself and George Winegan. Henry Smith, John Batise, Frank Griffin & Nelson Barnum for assistance in obtaining payment for services rendered John Lester (deceased) from June 4th 1867. to Oct 12th 1867. at $20. for month. 
Letter written to Mrs Lester to know if some settlement may not be arrived at without waiting the slow process of administration. No reply to date.
