In compliance with par II circular 10 C.S. I have the honor to make the following report of complaints made by freedmen and the action taken therein
Edward Marshall "freedman"}

Thomas Wallace "White",}
Marshall states that he entered into an agreement with Mr Wallace to cultivate one hundred acres of land and was to receive in payment for his labor 1/3 the crop, and that in May Wallace and himself had an altercation in which Wallace ordered him to leave the place and would not make a settlement nor pay him any thing for the labor performed, The case was submitted to the decision of referees, both parties consenting, The decision of the referees was that Wallace was not indebted to Marshall for the labor performed that the provisions furnished Marshall and his family fully compensated him for all the labor he had performed in the place.
