In compliance with instruction contained in Circular letter of July 25th 1867. I have the honor to submit the following Report for the month of January 1868

According to the census of 1866, there are 3769 Freedpeople in this Sub District

2d Their condition and how they are paid for their labor |

Their condition generally is good, though there are some in a bad condition in consequence of having been extravigant during the past year and their crops all used in paying their indebtedness. So far as I know the crops were divided satisfactorily and the Freedmen received compensation for their labor

The freedmen are generally contracting for stipulated portions of the crops Some are contracting for wages

4th No of Sick, infirm or Suffering from want |

I have knowledge of but few sick and suffering from want. There are (8) Freedpeople supported by the pauper fund of this County
