|Floyd|March 2nd 1868 Albert (freedman) applies for assistance in effecting a settlement with Wm. Purdy for labor performed during the year 1867. States Purdy has taken property from him without any process at law.  Undergoing investigation.|

|Smith|March 2nd 1868 Sam'l (freedman) States that a Mr. Jamison of Panola County Miss, is trying to take a mule from him with he (Smith) purchased from a Mr. Grun Dubard.  Satisfactorily adjusted.|

|Adams| March 2nd 1868 Betsey (freedwoman) Applies for assistance in recovering wages due her son from John Manley of Grenada Miss.  States he has worked 3 months and 1 week at $8 per month, and has only been paid 13.50.  No Settlement could be made Manley being without any means to pay.|
