The Bendix Trophy Race---Transcontinental Speed Dash
Free-For-All  Men and Women Pilots
Total Purse $15,000.00 and Vincent Bendix Trophy
Note: An additional prize of $2,500.00 will be awarded to the pilot who proceeds on to New York and breaks the present transcontinental speed record in the shortest elapsed time.
(1) The BENDIX TROPHY RACE will start from United Airport, Burbank, California, and offers free-for-all competition for all types of airplanes, effecting either non-stop flight, or refuel landings, at the pilot's option. The shortest elapsed time from starting point to the finish at Cleveland Municipal Airport will be the method of declaring the winner.
(2) The date and time of start will be determined by the Contest Committee, in order that the planes may arrive at Cleveland Municipal Airport on or before 6 p.m. Eastern time the same day, in order to be eligible.
(3) If a pilot wishes to proceed on to New York in an attempt to break the present transcontinental speed record, he or she may do so by crossing the finish line at an altitude of approximately 50 feet between the home pylon and the grandstand at the Cleveland Municipal Airport and fly on to New York. Floyd Bennett Field has been designated for the finish in New York.

Transcontinental Sweepstakes Handicap Air Derby

Total Purse $10,000 and 2 Auburn Custom Speedsters
(1) For all C. or N. C. Department of Commerce Licensed aircraft, of any cubic inch displacement. 
(2) The CORD CUP RACE will be run into two Wings---one Wing to be designated as the "Eastern Wing," and the other as the "Western Ring." The Eastern Wing will start from Washington D. C. and the Western Wing from Los Angeles Municipal Airport, Inglewood, Cal., on the afternoon of Sunday, August 21, 1932. The two wings will progress through a series of official control cities and will merge at Bartlesville, Oklahoma, from where the two wings will proceed to Cleveland, as one Race, finishing on Inaugural Day, or "DERBY DAY" pf the 1932 National Air Races.
(3) The National Sweepstakes winner, at the finish of the race in Cleveland, will be that pilot in either wing who has earned the greatest number of points as explained in "Method of determining the Sweepstakes Winner."
(4) The Junior Sweepstakes Award will go to the leader of the wing not represented by the National Sweepstakes Winner. 
(5) Awards to be made as follows:
1st Place---NATIONAL SWEEPSTAKES AWARD:
1. Permanent Possession---CORD CUP
2. Auburn 12 Custom Speedster
3. $2000.00 Cash
2nd Place---JUNIOR SWEEPSTAKES AWARD:
1. Permanent Possession---CORD CUP PLAQUE.
2. Auburn Straight 8 Custom Speedster
3. $1,000.00 Cash

N. Y. to Cleveland Municipal Airport via Middletown,
Pa. and Wheeling W. Va. and Akron, Ohio
Total Purse $2000.00 and Wm. B. Leeds Trophy
(1) Open to any type airplane of any displacement, carrying Department of Commerce Commercial License.
(2) Airplanes are to be owned by the contestants flying same.
(3) Handicap will be based on advertised top speed furnished by manufacturer. 
(4) Prize Money---First Prize---$750.00 and silver plaque for permanent possession. Second Prize---$500.00 and silver plaque for permanent possession. Third Prize---$250.00 and silver plaque for permanent possession. Fourth Prize---$100.00.
Consolation prizes of $50.00 each will be awarded to the next eight place winners.
