2. DOOLITTLE! Major James H.-His world's land plane speed record of 296.287 miles an hour made at Cleveland last year regained the coveted laurels France had held since 1924. 4. THE HAIZLIPS! Lieutenant James G. Haizlip, in Cleve-land last year 8 hours 19 minutes after leaving Los Angeles, wasn't content with the Bendix Trophy which his performance won for him. Roaring on to New York, he set a transcon-tinental record of 10 hours, 19 minutes. But the biggest honors in the Haizlip family belong to his Missus, May Haizlip, who flew 255.513 miles an hour at Cleveland, faster than any other woman had ever travelled. Lt. Haizlip is Assistant Manager of Shell's Aviation Department at St. Louis.
