IMPORTANT NOTICE 

No exceptions will be granted at the 1937 NATIONAL AIR RACES in any of the Rules and Regulations governing the competitive events, unless approved by the Contest Committee. 

The National Contest Board of the National Aeronautic Association has adopted a rule that, effective at the 1938 NATIONAL AIR RACES, no airplane will be allowed to compete in both the Thompson Trophy Race and the Bendix Trophy Race. This does no apply to pilots. 

A maximum of 10 airplanes will be allowed to start in any race where Formation Starts (Race Horse) are used. 

Sportsman Pilot Cross Country Derby 

Miss Ruth Chatterton has expressed a desire to again sponsor a Cross Country Derby in conjunction with the 1937 NATIONAL AIR RACES. A survey of possible routes is now being made. Definite announcement will be made at a later date. 

The Federation Aeronautique Internationale has adopted a new official International classification for light airplanes, classifying them by engine displacement rather than empty weight. The National Contest Board of the National Aeronautic Association has adopted these new International classifications to become effective January 1st, 1937. These new cubic inch displacement groupings are as follows: 

2 liters or 122 cu. in. displacement
4 liters or 244 cu. in. displacement 
6.5 liters or 397 cu. in. displacement 
9 liters or 549 cu. in. displacement
