Vincent Bendix, President of Bendix Aviation Corporation, is an inventor and engineer of international prominence. He has sponsored the Bendix Trophy Race to encourage experimental work toward the development of higher cross-country speed and new transcontinental speed records.

awarded the winner of the annual Bendix Cross-Country Speed Race to the host city of the National Air Races. An additional cash award goes to the pilot setting a new transcontinental speed record.
