12. The West Coast Contest Committee for the Bendix Trophy Race shall consist of a Referee, Chairman and a minimum of five members, one of whom shall be a representative for the pilots entered in the Race and elected by them.

13. The owner of the winning airplane in the "R" Division or an Aero Club he may designate, will be given possession of the BENDIX TROPHY for ten months from the date of the Race. The Pilot of the winning airplane in the "R" Division will be awarded, for permanent possession, a gold replica of the Trophy; the pilot of the airplane winning second place in the "R" Division will be awarded, for permanent possession, a silver replica of the Trophy and the Pilot of the airplane winning third place in the "R" Division will be awarded, for permanent possession, a bronze replica of the Trophy. Service Pilots of the winning airplanes in the "J" Division for U. S. Military Jet airplanes will be awarded replicas or medals.

               Women's Trophy Race
       National Free-for-All   Women Pilots Only Open to Engines of Unlimited Cubic Inch Displacement
              TOTAL PURSE $5,000.00
             Sponsor to be announced

This will be a sponsored race and both the sponsor's name and the trophy will be announced later.
1. The above purse of $5,000.00 will be awarded to the winners of the first five places on the following basis:
           1st Place -- $2,500.00
2nd Place -- $1000.00   4th Place -- $500.00
3rd Place --   750.00   5th Place --  250.00

2. Limited to eight (8) starters.

3. Distance - 75 miles - 5 laps of the 15-mile quadrangular course.

4. Starting field will be limited to the eight (8) fastest qualifiers.

5. Women pilots must have 500 or more flying hours and be properly qualified by the N. A. A. Contest Board. The airplanes must carry N C designation.

               Sesquicentennial Race
        National Free-for-All  Men Pilots Only
                TOTAL PURSE $15,000.00
Open to Engines of Unlimited Cubic Inch Displacement

This race will be open to pilots not qualifying for entry in the Thompson Trophy Race, and will be limited to twelve (12) starters.

1. The total purse of $15,000.00 will be awarded to the winners of the first five places on the following basis:
             1st Place -- $8000.00
2nd Place -- $3,500.00   4th Place -- $1,000.00
3rd Place --  2,000.00   5th Place --    500.00

2. The airplanes eligible for this event will be the second group of twelve (12) airplanes having made the fastest speeds in the qualifying speed trials for the Thompson Trophy Race.

3. Qualifying speed trials will be held Monday, August 26, 1946 through Thursday, August 29, 1946, at the Cleveland Municipal Airport.

4. Distance - 225 miles - 15 laps of the 15-mile quadrangular course.

5. Pilots must fly solo, wear "G" suits, crash helmets and parachutes.
