It seems to be quite the fashion for girls to ride horse back in town these days.
  Alice gave Marion free board this summer till she found her place to work. I hope she appreciated it, but Sue dont think her mother did, they are not fond of her after all, they both called her an awful liar, and told them that there was no one younger than forty for Marion to associate with that and the things she said about Myrtie that she look to be "an old old woman" made them feel anything but friendly towards her.
