Dear Doris
  Well while waiting for dinner to cook I will write you a few lines. I have just been out and picked my black berries and my arms are smarting from the effects. we are enjoying them this summer and so wish you could be here to have them too I never make the short cake without thinking I wish you could have some it takes away half the pleasure from the feast, but I mean to put some up after Lena goes away which she expects to by Thursday she is getting her sewing done now pretty well think on the whole the change will be benificial to all of us thoug we shall mis her some at first.
