at the trees everything was perfectly peaceful it made one wish they could withdraw from civilezzeation [[civilization]] and live there forever. The influenza is abating here, compared with the towns around us we have'nt [[haven't]] suffered very bad Banton + Norwood have been the worst. I have begun my fall cleaning and have done one room up stairs (mine) the carpet was fierce, next will be the sitting room carpet, which is also bad, these old carpets will be the finish for me, they are so clumsy to get in and out. Lena + I went down to Dykemans the other night Grace was home for Columbus Day, he was showing us his apples, he had a bawldwin apple that weighed just a pound and said that there were more just like it he had intended to send to cattle show, he also had a welthea [[wealthy]] apple dark red with small white spots, which was also very pretty, he gave us one to bring home he is generous with his fruit. I hope you are on your feet again as that trouble is weakening and do be careful and not overdo, this summer was a strain on both of you I think, hope now the weather is cooler you will both feel better and more like work, does your land lady kick up a rumpus since you came back?
