[[stamp]] TIFFT HOUSE HARRIS & BUCK PROPRIETORS
Buffalo, N.Y. June 8th 1887
My dear Warner,

This is not the first time I have begun a note to you but I have been lately unable to finish any beginnings. I don't know when I shall return to New York but I don't want you to forget me or to think I am not missing you. After I got over my bronchitis which lasted a discouragingly tedious time I went to Amherst for my concluding lectures & then went directly to Washington to make my father the visit I think I told you of. Thence we were called suddenly to Ithaca by a relapse of my sister-in-law and we have been there ever since up to last Monday when Mrs Brownell having got thoroughly exhausted by nursing & worry we came here for a week or so (where my father now is) expecting to return to Ithaca & piece out our visit when my sister-in-law's convalescence should be better established. Mean-time I have never replied to the [[?]] Club notification as I did not take it with me on
