of the time, but it is so pretty that I have worn it in town several times. Perhaps I will bring it out when I come next time so that you can see it.

We got a good snow storm - I think that it was some time during the first of the week. I suppose that you got it too. Going through the Fells the other day, though, I thought that I saw some spring birds, but I am not sure that they weren't blue jays. Mrs. Pettengill says that some of the birds are on their way, she heard. It won't be long now before we shall begin to see signs of spring. I expect that you will be out digging in the garden soon. Already the days are much longer, for which fact I am thankful, and I guess that you are too.

I am glad that Alice got around to visit you again. You will feel better, knowing that she is not cross with you.

Did Mr. Holmes go to Washington? I think that he would enjoy the trip. I suppose that he will soon be on the road again.

To-day I got a letter from Florence, Aunt Cora's daughter-in-law. She says that Elizabeth has a new six-room house and bath. She says that she has a beautiful view of Ossipee Lake. Aunt Cora has been working in Silver Lake ever since last Oct. Things seem to be straightening out.

I am glad Ruth Walker Flint has a little boy.

All good wishes, Lena.
