Help colored folk to make 'em be right. But whatever destiny she did, she done a good job. It was a --
You should see it, Adventure.
[00:00:10]

It was a good movie -- and uhh -- so we're doing the same thing now, ladies and gentlemen. We are still in slavery.
[00:00:17]

White mens come from here got more sense than Barnett, and Johnson, and Salas [?], and the whole legislature that grab'em and throw'em in jail 'cause they're trying to help somebody be free. Now that's a shame before God. They don't even do that in Russia.
[00:00:32]

Yale student! You ain't got 5 -- $10,000, you can't go to Yale.
And you fella represent somethin'.
That's right.
Now look for no Jackson State College or some of these other colleges down there. Look for you know for why might have no brain.
[00:00:49]

But these young mens coming down here got plenty brains.
[00:00:52]

And they sacrificing they credits and everything else comin' down to help us.

I started to say somethin' 'bout them, but I'm gonna let Dr. Henry say it. I started to mention that he get throwed a bomb in his house
[00:01:13]

in Clarksdale and go down on the coast and go to a banquet at a church and get rocks and bricks throwed at him down on that part. From one end of the Mississippi to the other end of the Mississippi. So one part of Mississippi ain't no better than the other.
[00:01:25]

All of it is crooked. All of it is dirty. It ain't nothin' but politics and it cannot go into [[?]] unless they use a Negro's name or Jane, Mary, Kennedy. That's all you hear, every time you turn on the TV.
[00:01:40]

That Kennedy [?] got more sense than all of 'em put together. Applause.

Our friends are with us.
Lois Chaffee has just been picked up and brought down to jail by our friends outside.
[00:02:03]

She was accused of having parked her car illegally.
[00:02:06]

She has now come back having paid the toll for having entered this building. This building is one of those rare buildings they used to have in the Middle Ages. You know, they had castles with moats and you'd pay a toll to get into them to the lord of the castle.
[00:02:19]

Well, now they have it here on Lynch Street. You go in and out of this building, you pay your $12.00 fee to the city of Jackson in order to get in or out.
[00:02:27]

Lois, if you're here I hope you'll stand up and let us tell you that we appreciate you coming through the toll gate.
Lois, are you in the crowd?
[00:02:34]

[[clapping]]

Stand up. And while you're standing up, let's get our friends from all over the city and state and country that are here with us tonight to stand up.
