{SPEAKER name="Robert B. Gore"}
And he's running for Lieutenant Governor, under a black pharmacist. How 'bout that?
[Audience cheers]
[00:07:04]

{SPEAKER name="Robert B. Gore"}
Now that program does not say anything about who hates who the most. All it's talking about is
[00:07:09]

{SPEAKER name="Robert B. Gore"}
We need civil rights for everybody in Mississippi.
[Audience cheers]
[00:07:14]

{SPEAKER name="Robert B. Gore"}
We need economic growth, for everybody in Mississippi.
[Audience cheers]
[00:07:19]

{SPEAKER name="Robert B. Gore"}
I was- I was on the train the other day, coming back from Batesville.
[00:07:27]

{SPEAKER name="Robert B. Gore"}
And I saw this huge, big, red machine and I asked the man sitting behind me. "Would you kindly tell me what that is?" And he said, "Oh, that's a cotton picking machine."
[00:07:35]

{SPEAKER name="Robert B. Gore"}
And I said "Oh! This means the people'll be taken off of the farms then!" And he said "Yeah I'm afraid so."
[00:07:40]

{SPEAKER name="Robert B. Gore"}
Now these people are running for governor oughtta be talking about where these people are gonna work! Instead they're not even worried about them!
[00:07:48]

{SPEAKER name="Robert B. Gore"}
There's only two candidates in the whole state of Mississippi who's worried about the black man in Mississippi, and that's Henry and King! [Audience cheers]
[00:08:01]

{SPEAKER name="Robert B. Gore"}
And these are the people who need to be upheld!
[00:08:03]

{SPEAKER name="Robert B. Gore"}
Now, I don't mean just in the past few days and the so-called mock election, which I might add, is the most important election in the history of this country! [Audience cheers]
[00:08:18]

{SPEAKER name="Robert B. Gore"}
Now they've also talked about education. The Henry-King platform. And this is an important thing. Because they're talking about saving money. We don't need separate schools, we need good schools! [Audience cheers]
[00:08:34]

{SPEAKER name="Robert B. Gore"}
Do you realize that in Mississippi, as a result of do-nothings and know-nothings like Ross Barnett and all of his youth, that Mississippi schools are the worst in the nation? [Audience cheers]
[00:08:48]

{SPEAKER name="Robert B. Gore"}
And I'm not only talking about negro schools, all the schools in Mississippi, from Ole Miss on down. These are the worst schools in the nation!
[00:08:57]

{SPEAKER name="Robert B. Gore"}
And yet you have a situation like that, and all Johnson and Phillips can talk about is who hates Negroes the most. I think it's a travesty on the Democratic system
[00:09:08]

{SPEAKER name="Robert B. Gore"}
to have men like that, this is your only choice, to lead your state, and now that we have a candidate like King and a candidate like Henry, you have the opportunity to let them know: that I'm tired of the Republicans!
[00:09:22]

{SPEAKER name="Robert B. Gore"}
I'm tired of the Democrats! I'm tired of the whole crew. We need to tear down and start again from the beginning!
[Audience cheers]
[00:09:33]
