Dear Mrs. Holmes:

I have my typewriter out this A.M. so will send you this card right away to thank you for forwarding my check. The mail man thinks I ought to change the address on it, but if it doesn't bother you too much, I like to keep it with you. Then if I take a notion to move around the country, it still goes where I am sure to receive it.

I am wondering how you folks are this abominable weather. Yesterday a woman came in to get some yarn and was so overcome with heat in the store she couldn't wait to look for a card she wanted. I wondered what she would do if she had to endure the place all day! And I have my electric fan going most of the time too.

I have just finished knitting a little coat for Nancy. I wish you could see it, you like such things so much. Is Doris & family here yet?

Love, Lena
