She says Florida is much more beautiful than she had anticipated, because she had always discounted the things she had heard about it, but believes they were not exaggerated but rather understated.  I hope she continues to think so. She hopes to get some more work here so as not to have to return north during the cold weather.

Bertha Green's sister is a lovely, quiet, sweet little [[woman?]]. I received a note from her two or three weeks ago.  She thinks I had better come back to Clearwater and get something to do there.  Have you seen Bertha at all?  Her sister doesn't hear from her very often, and she worries about her.  She hasn't seen her for over thirty years, I believe - a long time, anyway.
Did you have a good summer? I hope so, and that you are all pepped up for the winter. When did Doris get home? Did [[strikethrough]] you [[/strikethrough]] she go into Boston often? I owe her a letter, which I hope to write very soon now.
I was awfully sorry Mary had to give up the apartment. It seems hard to realize our nice little home is gone. I might never have gone back, but I liked to think of Mary there if I wanted to go.
By the way, if my American Telephone check has or should come up to the house, will you please send it along? It arrived October 15 presumably. I imagine it went to 99 [[Scorer?]], [[?]]
St Augustine is quaint in its old section, and very beautiful in many places. I often wish you could see it all.
