By the very fact that he epitomizes th-- the perhaps the youthful struggle in the cause for freedom, perhaps this is why there are more young people involved in the cause for freedom today than ever before.

it's because of the dynamic leadership and the ever-presence of John Lewis, praise John

John Lewis ladies and gentlemen is the president of the Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee

and if there is any group that have born more of the burden of the struggle, trying to advance this race of ours toward full citizenship, none of us know about it.

We are proud to stand side by side with John Lewis, proud to stand with our arms around him here in Hattiesburg Mississippi and pledge to him,

our unyielding support for the Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee and all of the trials and tribulations.

all of the bruises and beatings and jailings and all of the other many inconveniences that he personally has gone through and that the Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee epitomizes.
