Hawkinsville. Ga.
Decr. 11th. 1868.

Mr. E.A. Ware
Supt. Education.

Sir,
The Teacher of the colored School at this place, Mr. W.E. Cole has just shown me a report addressed to you of his operations for the year just closing, and he requests me to add in this note such information as I may be able to furnish concerning himself and several other gentleman I attended the examination of pupils last Monday and was [[gratified?]] at the progress they were evidently making. The exercises I witnessed were confined to elementary branches including arithmetic and I must say they were quite creditable. The children appeared to have been carefully instructed and were attentive and polite to each other and to visitors.

From all I can see and learn the teacher has discharged the delicate and onerous duties faithfully and to the satisfaction of all parties. He is respectful in his intercourse with the people
