Wednesday, February 19.

Almost a Spring day Before I left my room Ella Mahone called to invite me to tea, and to go to see the "White Fawn" I went Vidi, but not vici. The scenery was gorgeous resembling enchantment almost but there was no plot to the play. The dress presented a most indecorous appearance tout en decollete.

L was there he certainly had no idea of seeing me there, nor I of seeing him. It was rather amusing to me to be even with him.

Writing in morning in Afternoon L came sort of [?]] in evening write and Read Macauley England.

I have been reading Carlisle's "Heroes" The Northmen and also Mahomet and had nearly [[strikethrough]] begun [[/strikethrough]] completed the Hero Poet - Dante and Shakespeare
