Wednesday, March 4
This morning I took the Mr. In [[?]] Frelas [[?]] told me he would present Mr. Garrison's letter to the firm which assembled to have a meeting and would let me know. I tremble for my success somehow. I suppose it is natural for a novice to feel so. Home and [[?]] for Miss Emily. In afternoon L. came of course we quarreled to begin with. I read after he left. I wrote to Major. I feel so much better now that I am through with the MS &et. I know that I can better it.

Thursday, March 5.
A beautiful clear day. Went to Chelsea to see Mrs Richards had a most friendly reception from her. She seemed really glad to see me. Mrs Richards came over to Boston with me. I went to see old Mrs Mann and the Needmans. I am [[?]] going to Portland with Mrs W. They are all most comfortably situated. I also saw Mr. Morris. I attended in the evening the [[?]] celebration. Several speeches were made. Leedie spoke forcibly and truthfully the rest were random and practise speeches
