1868
Thursday, March 26.
Home & sick reading all day "Whitesfriars" I have a severe cold taken in Portland.

Today my dream of P. is stronger than ever upon me, my every effort has the same source like Burns.

"E'en there a wish, I own its power
A wish, that to my latest hour
Shall strongly heave my soul
That I for poor auld Scotland's sake
Some usefu' plan or beuk can I make
Or sing a song at least."

Perhaps it will all come right some day. "The Gods are to each other not un-known" and hearts gravitate to each other by the same divine necessity.
