Went to Chelsea to Mrs Richards finding fault as ward with poor Sophie she has not and abundance of charity Next to Mrs Simmons also to Mrs Morris - she is very very handsome widow but so intensely Catholic she is that she does not seem to open her hospitality to Protestants I met a Mrs Otis there belonging to the Fraternity she is very much interested in the Freedmen, and the Schools she asked particularly of Jennie Weston.

Thursday, April 16.
Cloudy and rained in the morning went to Mr. Redpath's he greeted me very kindly. Suggested to me to write one story on Monday. I will finish that which I have.

Mr Lee loaned me Mrs Keckley's book I finished reading it before five oclock. It is well written, but not by Mrs K. that's clear! Read all the evening
