At Home all day, in the afternoon Mr Lennox came and we spent the time very pleasantly together He [[His]] cold grey eyes are fathomless as they are piercing Nothing escapes his attention. He is a hypochondriac appearantly but I have my doubts sometimes that his referring are not diplomacy A noble self sacrifice he has made through life for his father's sake. God will reward him someday

In bed sick. Mrs Redpath called did not see her
Mr Lennox came for me to go out with him but was too indisposed He went out and brought me some fruit. I received a letter from Leedie today telling me of the wedding of Miss Bishop and Mr Rich Mason. Fanne and Mrs Hare went to the Hop. Emily and Her were in a terrible fracas in consequence of E. going with F.M. I am truly sorry for her. The human heart like a millstone forever on the round. If there is another for them to grind, they must themselves be ground"
