Monday, June 1.
Went to the State House to see the parade of the Ancient and Honorable Artillery this their 230th Anniversary. In their Continental uniform they made a fine appearance supported by representatives of the other companies of the State. They were commanded by Maj Gen Banks as Capt. They came for [[strikethrough]] the [[/strikethrough]] Gov Bullock with much ceremony and escorted him to Hollis St. Church where the "Election Sermin" was preached by Dr Storrs of Brooklyn N.Y. Hawthorn describes this in the Scarlet Letter "In the after at 5 oclock amid the Artillery Salute "the Gov took his seat" in the Common, and I took sick.
