Mr Baker brought me some proof sheets  
We had a long conversation about literati Oliver Optic  Julia Ward Howe  Mrs Fall.  Speaker Phelps  who has [[writ?]] a life of Gen Grant &c.
Matthew came in the evening &c.
Mr Lennox had sent me a beautiful bouquet.

Thursday, June 25.

At Lee & Shephards to day also at Mr Phillips the latter I did not see at all. Mr Baker brought me tickets for Mrs. Keckley's Reading. Mr & Mrs Baily went with me to her. I felt nervous all the while  
It was poor to say the least of it. We went up and spoke to her at the conclusion of it. It is too late in the day for her to attempt it especially without a first class teacher.
This afternoon went to see Mr Morris before leaving
