Warren yesterday and got Madeleine and the baby. The youngster -- an eight-month's old product - weighs 15 or more pounds. She is very light. I wish you could see her. They put her to bed last night in the room next to mine. Her mother slept on the third floor, and her grandmother on the first. Not a sound, however, was heard until six this morning when I heard Mrs. P. creeping into the room, and the baby give one little gurgle. I guess she had her bottle then. I heard her again talking to herself at nine just before they came to get her for her bath. Isn't that a good record?

Late this P.M. I have been working on a green jersey jacket that goes with a suit Berenice sent me last year. I did a lot. I may finish it to wear to Lake Winnipesaukee if I decide to go with Miss Garland to-morrow. I can get a lot done when I have great reason for so doing.

It bothered me somewhat that you folks didn't seem as well as usual. I wrote my telephone number on the slip on the cushin. There was the number already there, but I wrote it again to be sure you saw it in case either of
