York trip at ay time, but that the Nova Scotia trip was almost like a trip abroad; so I telephoned Mrs. Ott to see if she had settled definitely on the date. Her letter said probably Aug. 1 or 4, and Helen had presumedly already made reservations from the 2 to 5. I didn't get any new information, so then I tried to get Helen. I tried again today only to be told she had no telephone. Then I telegraphed to see if she would excuse me from making the New York trip. And now I have written her a long letter explaining everything, and asking her to cancel my reservation and get refund of money. I hope she hasn't already paid it down, but I suppose it would be altogether too much to expect she hadn't. I am sorry to have butted in on her trip in such a way and now to leave her in the lurch, and to do all of the work too, but I think it is best inasmuch as she engaged the accommodations at [[Marlten?]]. Berenice is wondering if they will refund but I should think any reliable organization would on so long a notice, wouldn't you?

How are you both? Well, I hope. Doris and Sid will be coming home soon now.

I came over here last Wed. T. met me at Wells River, 38 miles
