Thursday Evening.

Dear Folks,

Your letters came yesterday, and I had a good time reading them. It was fun reading about Doris' trip to Wilmington. I should have liked to see the performance when the car got stuck. Can't you imagine the whole thing, - especially the climax?

I hope that you will live up to your promises of not overdoing at planting and house cleaning. You don't want to get lamed up. You remember that bladder attack you had after tugging the carpet upstairs one year?

What does Mr. Holmes do upstairs to keep himself occupied? I hope that he stays in the front chamber where there is at least a little heat, but I wish that he would get out of doors part of the time. Just think it is almost a year ago that the trouble came upon him. How we all wish that he was as well as he was a year ago, and that we, had known as much about his condition then as we do now; then perhaps we could have averted the blow.
