Mrs. Hodgess told me yesterday that Melba didn't pay her for her board or rather room last vacation; that she said, "I am not going to pay you this week, I want the money to spend myself". 

Some nerve, eh? And I really think Melba thinks she is all right in doing it.  She is a good kid in many ways. 

How did the lodge supper come off?
