This P.M. there was a meeting of the teachers' club.  The catholics have run things before and we supposed they would to-day but to our great surprize the protestants carried the day.  I am on the board of trustees, advisors or something or other and we also elected a protestant president but she declares she won't serve so I don't know who we shall get to take her place.  You would have laughed at the way the meeting was conducted.  They declared delegates to the state organization could not be elected to-day because the constitution said they should be elected at the annual meeting of the society.  Yet they aren't elected at that meeting because of yearly change of teachers; so they merely declared elected the same two catholic teachers who have been delegates year after year as nearly s\as I can find out.  I raised questions until I was tired; then subsided.  Now as I am on the board, I think I shall propose an amendment to the constitution or else conformity to the document as it stands.  I was alas appointed chairman of the next entertainment committee with power to elect or rather choose my own helpers.  I immediately chose all catholics.  That seemed to suit fairly well.
