week I got more flowering dogwood, large bunches of columbine which grows in abundance, horseshoe violets, star flowers, wild lily of the valleys, wild cherry, buttercups, bluets, wild geranium and 25 ladies slippers.  The latter I gave away but intend getting more for myself.  I want very much to send some flowers to Miss Hollis, Jimmie and Daisy, but don't think it would do much good to send them through the mail.

I got letters from Elizabeth and Aunt Cora.  Elizabeth had been out picking wild flowers for school.  She sent me what she called a prized polygalum (spelling?)  I am enclosing it for your to mail to Sid in your next letter.  I am wondering if she got it right.

A short note from Berenice came a day or two ago and Helen Hewitt's announcement.  I suppose she landed in France yesterday or to-day.

I have just answered a letter from one of my evening school boys.  It was a nice one.  He hoped to have me for a teacher next fall, he said.  I have written him saying I don't expect to be here.  My self interest came
