Hattie Smith called up on the telephone after I had gone up stairs to bed last night. Mrs Osets up and has a great time listening to the radio. it tires me to listen long, it gets on my nerves towards night. I should get some one to fastin on the stove door, its a shame to work under such difficulties. the freeze up of your sink drain is enough, its on the cold side. I should think your basement would be warmer. We shall all be glad when the frogs peep. we feed the bird every day. poor things how they must suffer, with every thing covered so deep with snow. it will be a long time before this much snow will go. we shall be glad to see the bare ground once more. February is a short month, so many old folks go this month. they escape a lot of trouble. depression is felt by us all. the air is full of it. The world has been living too easy. we have got to come down to hard pan before times will be easier. it will never be in our day. a long time its going to take before things get back again if ever to what they were. hope you things are better Ma
