Stoughton June 27th 1935 -
Dear Folks
We are having warmer weather & thunder showers. Plenty of rain. Our roses are looking fine, the old fashioned white did well this year but the bugs swamped it in spite of my efforts to kill them. Lena came up last night before dark & said she was going to Buffalo with Bernice this week & she was resting up for it. She was looking pretty well. I gave her a big boquet to carry home which she was going to share with her land lady Mrs. Legg. She told me how to save my gin jack bush - very much Lena. but I think it has done pretty well to live as long as it has. They talked pretty sweet together, talk is cheap. I have got the play dresses mostly done. The cloth was very pretty. Does she wear the one I made with that ruffle or does it make her nervous to look over so much ruffle. I should think it would. Tomorrow afternoon Mrs Barry is going over to Holbrook to have her hair shampood. she always has her do her hair & the one that does it is going to bring

Transcription Notes:
not sure that it definitely says conceit but I checked the definition and it seems like it could fit here. Someone who is better with cursive can double check it.
