Sunday the day after tomorrow. there is no way for her to get over here to him. she has got to go over one whole day but will have some one of her friends bring her back to be here at night there is no other way. she says everything is happening all in a heap. To day I have had my porch screened in I called Jack to tell Soper to come up to do it & he was only too glad of the job. he says Jack is much better he is able to walk down town & in no pain eats & sleeps well & could dress himself if he had a mind to. he sits up till eleven or twelve o'clock with him to sleep in his chair nights & listen to the radio. he hates the nights, afraid to be alone Soper says. I had him pay my electric light & telephone bills & get me a bottle of pills. he always comes in his car. one of my Azelias has got a very pink bud on it out near the road set out last fall. they are all alive & some of the scotch roses show some life. I wrote to Mary French she has not heard anything from Alice all winter so told her of her being here with me. I also told her about Mattie Sewall & her condition & how Alice pities her & helps her & they mean to do more for her later. they think her worthy of their help. Mary being related might take the hint & do the same if she saw fit. but doubt if she will she is not kind hearted. I remember her of old how mad I was once when she killed her little kittens Ma
