The Lord has helped me so far & and guess he will again if I do my part. he helps those who help themselves. they say. I am making a little cap to match his sweater. I wish there were more brown yarn. I will see what I am do with the other color. Lena has just called up to let me know that she would not be home tonight. she was at Dr. Otto. so I have just got my supper ready & will sit down and eat. I guess the house wont run away with me & I can stay alone tonight. she probably will come home tomorrow. I hope her knee is better. well what next? The radio is going & it is hard to write Lowell Thomas is jabbering. he is giving the news as fast as he can talk. next comes Amos & Andy. we like that, its very comical. after that I may go up to my bed. I hope to sleep the sleep of the just. I hope she don't have scarlet fever. we have no eppidemic here in town. that I know of. Anna Lamb has had the grip. I guess she is run down since John was sick &died. Tonight it is cold and windy its more like March than anything. we shall be glad to have settled weather. it rained last night during my sleep so they said. our grass is growing green & the forcithia buds are showing their yellow, in a few days they will be out now. things are coming slow but sure. we may have a freeze tonight if we do it wont hurt anything. things are not ahead enough. Lena said over the radio that she forgot to empty her "vessel." but I went up & found it was emptied.
