[Feb/Mar] 1935
A letter from Major Osmun has just come. I will copy it.
"A gold mining company in the west has written me trying to locate the holder of 500 shares of mining stock originally owned by Henry S. Jones.

I understand that your [[underlined]] grandmother [[/underlined]] married Mr. [[underlined]] Jones' wife's brother [[/underlined]] and it occurred to Mrs. Osmun and me that some of these shares may have descended to you or that you may know to whom they did descend. If you can give me any information about this, I will appreciate it very much indeed. The shares are not worth much at the time but the company has recommenced operations & is making small income. If conditions continue to improve, the shares may be worth a modest sum.

The company is the Consolidated Mercer Mining Co whose offices are in Salt Lake City. & it appears that Mr. Jones originally had a 1000 shares, 500 of which descended thru his Julia Drake Mrs to her daughter Edith Mrs Osmun (my wife) The remaining 500 shares are what the company is trying to locate. "

I don't know anything about it. I think he has our genealogy mixed, hasn't he?
