Stoughton February 10th 1935

Dear Folks
The day is cloudy and warm. I have just written a letter to Lena + will now start my Sunday letter to you. hope the nighties got there safe. I have been working now on yours up stairs. the childrens voices come to me on the hill where they are coasting. the month is going fast most the middle now. the sun is going higher every day. our little birds are still coming for our food she puts out every morning. she mixes meal + bean then scolds + puts in lamb grease. its cleaned up every day. they seem to like it. the blue jays would rather have nuts. the squirels [[squirrels]] the same, but this year they have no nuts + not many acorns. Mrs Ballentine scooped hers up + they were sent off with her rubbish to the dump. I told her they were food for the blue jays. she doesn't know the names of the birds, they do not come into her religion. we are not all alike (lucky)The sun is just peeking out + guess the rest of the day may be pleasant hope so I called up Maude after your letter. she says did Ralph write after xmas? she thought he did, but was not sure. they seem to be all bound up in their children + grandchildren
