1944- Saturday - rain all day. Daddy to Marlboro, Waldorf, and corner. stayed all day. got 2 turkey eggs. Daddy drunk.
 
1945 Sunday. President buried at Hyde Park, N.Y. today 10.00 AM. colder & rainy. Daddy & boys out.

1946 Monday and school. windy out today. Harold here today. Got A on my Ballad & Opera Music book.

1947 Tuesday and school. warmer. Junior Business test. got B on Biology test. Spelling Bee 7th period. Mr. Reeder here. Mrs Cross place of Miss Oalk.

1948 Thursday. Filled out grade sheets in all of my classes. Warmer. Mother very sick. 

APRIL 16

1944 - Sunday - to Sunday School. Woodrow Townshend is going to be my Sunday School teacher. rain. May and Robert at Aunt Maggie's.

1945 - Monday and school. rainy

1946 Tuesday & school. windy + cold. 9th boys over 8A. Library club meeting 4th period. Harold here today.

1947 Wednesday + school. Movie "Periat Dancer" 1-2 periods. Mrs. Cross still here. got report cards - (3A's-1B-1C) Mr. Reeder here. He is wonderful. rained all day

1948 Friday. Typed all day. Had a good talk with Mr. Reeder today still like him a lot. much warmer.
