Stoughton Dec 26th, 1935

Dear Folks,

Well Xmas of 1935 has gone by a day to be remembered by many in spite of depression. more money spent on presents than ever a most beautiful day over head. I thought as we were both going to be away on Xmas. we better open up our packages the afternoon before. I was greatly surprised to see so many in the box you folks sent me, all so useful & pretty the bed spread just matches everything in the room & looks so pretty on the bed. That little basket so closely woven & firm makes a nice receptacle for my thread & sewing utensils I love it. The dress is so pretty, vegetable dishes are nice as I had only bowls, neat & pretty, they will be figs & dates orange peel, so much better than candy for me. Tea is also much appreciated. Thanks for the pot also. a very nice lot of everything useful. may they all be as kind to you in your old age as they have been to me this year, for it seem to be that I never was so well remembered as I have been this year. even to a Santy Clause Gertrude brought over with a box of choclate
