Stoughton December 17th 1935

Dear Doris 

It seems like clearing weather, although a leaden sky. I was here alone yesterday Blanch went to Boston with the Harringtons but got very tired waiting for them to show up. from her visiting the Christian Science people she is such a gabber. Poor Mrs Barry stood up two whole hours outside, where they planned to meet her. Mrs Harrington told B that he worshipped the ground I walked on (before him). he said I was so sympathetic he said I helped him to bear his troubles. he dont want to leave the old house he loves it and she hates it. she wants to sell it and get at her old job in town so we think he may let her go. he will lose the little boy they both love him. they took him yesterday he is a dear no trouble but very lovable.  Maude & the baby & Ralph were here Sunday so was Lena. they want me to go there Xmas although Lena was going to ask us there but they got the start of her. Mrs Barry is going out to Bernard Capens with Eldons folks and Forests widow for her holiday, so she will be happy. Bernard was Eldons nephew. his first wives
