Stoughton November 21st 1935

Dear Folks
Since our severe gale of Sunday & Monday we are still alive, our house rocked as if we were in the midst of an earthquake, all one night, it did a great deal of damage to those near the coast, we never are safe in this world. but today the south wind is better & more friendly. Mrs. Barry is feeling not so well she took cold from going out twice Sunday. she seemed posessed to bear the elements. so is paying for it but thinks the worst of it is over. she is sleeping it off now. the town managers wife Alice Winship was to give a party. fifteen were invited Marion Estin helpt her get ready. but called it off this morning, on account of Alice's father who was in a dying condition, so Marion said. Mrs Barry was in no state to go, so it was a good thing she thought it happened that way. some feed to get rid of though, but they can stand it. I guess. Marion said he had been sick and a care for a long time, & it would be a blessing to have him go. North Boston is where they live & the daughter went

[[top margin]] I have a bottle & almost 1/3 of alphin pills still Mrs Barry is much better. She goes tomorrow to the Chickataubut [[Chickatawbut]] Club meeting tomorrow afternoon  she has joined & this is her first meeting  she is one of the hostises. her cousin is jealous to think they put join  but her friends were bound to put her in. Cousin is at the head of it and is jealous of her popularity & they are getting down on cousin for her treatment towards Blanch.
