folks were all working. Charlotte worked every day. they were well. I guess they are glad to get rid of Jimmie I have not heard from Lena for a week she will most likely go out to Jimmies for Thanksgiving as usual. she will come home & have a sick spell from eating so much. Lena likes good things. I am going to call up McDonald & get a fowl for our dinner if possible. wish the day was over, I dread holidays. now is the time we want the out side windows on. the little boy came Saturday for work, so I had him cart off my ash pile at the back door. he spread it down the drive way through the grove. he is a good little fellow to imploy & does everything as good as he knows how, I never give him over a quarter I told him to come around to shovel my paths this winter, he said he would. I have just been down cellar but find no water came in by the storm. feel it is very lucky. I hope the young one will learn to fight her own battles when she is slapped in the face, otherwise they may take advantage & do it some more. give as good as they do to her I should say. well such is life my spunk would be to defend myself always. I hope this letter goes I have hurried to write it. Ma.
Mrs B is sniffing salt water up her nose after sifting ashes out the back door this morning.
